A 41 years old Traveller of East Godavari district came from Kuwait to Gannavaram on 19.12.2021 and sample collected at Airport. Declared RT PCR Positive for COVID-19 on 20.12.2021. Sample was sent to CCMB, Hyderabad for Genome Sequencing and the result declared as OMICRON Positive on 23.12.2021. She is healthy and in quarantine under the close observation of health department.
A 33 years old from Visakhapatnam visited UA and returned on 15.12.2021. Admitted in a Private Hospital with mild fever, RT-PCR test found positive on 16.12.2021 and was referred to CCMB, Hyderabad for Genome Sequencing and result was declared as OMICRON Positive on 23.12.2021. He was recovered and discharged on 22.12.2021. He is stable now and is in quarantine under the close observation of health department.
So far a total of 53 International Travellers and 9 contacts were found COVID-19 RTPCR Positive and all the samples were sent for Genome sequencing. The Public is advised not to worry and believe any rumours but continue to take precautions and follow social distancing, wearing of a mask, washing hands regularly.
All contacts of both positive cases were tested and found negative
