ORDER:
The attention of all the District Educational Officers & Ex-Officio Project Coordinators and Additional Project Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha in the State are invited to the subject cited and are informed that Dr.D.Mukunda Reddy, Basavatarakam Smile Train Centre, Hyderabad requested to arrange venue and communicate the information to parents of CwSN for conducting Cleft Lip & Palate screening camps for CwSN by IERPS for encourage children with special needs to continue with their schooling.
Further they stated that they are going to conduct Cleft Lip & Palate screening camps for CwSN and follow-up services in 26 districts of Andhra Pradesh and scheduled as follows:
Further, they stated that, Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, Hyderabad conducted 1750 screened cases, 1351 operated cases and 315 Speech and Dental referral for Children with Special Needs during 2013 to 2017. They will provide free Food, Accommodation & Travel Expenditure of Rs. 1000/- per patient who comes for surgical intervention. They also provide follow up evaluation to the previously operated patients of Speech evaluation for Cleft Lip & Palate patients, Hearing evaluation for Cleft Lip & Palate patients and Dental screening for cleft lip & Palate patients (dental services shall be provided free of cost only to cases primarily operated at BSTC.
Screening camp specific information:
Cleft patients with an age range of 6 months to 50 years can attend these screening camps. • Newly identified cases can be scheduled for an appointment given for surgery. The patients who have been previously operated for cleft deformity in other Hospitals can also attend these camps for further treatment i.e., unclear speech and other problems related to cleft deformity. . Each patient coming to hospital for surgery shall be provided with facilities such as accommodation for patient attendants (2 attendants per patient), Free Food and Free Medicines.
• Every operated patient shall be paid a Travel expenditure of Rs. 1000/- at the time of discharge
RPs for CwSN deputed to accompany a group of patients to the BSTC centre, Hyderabad shall be provided Accommodation, Food and
Travel Expenditure. The following provisions will be provided at the screening camps at district level: An amount of Rs: 150/-(Rupees one hundred and fifty only/-) will be reimbursed per child who are attending to the screening camp forFood and Travel An amount of Rs: 200/- (Rupees Two hundred only) will be reimbursed to the IERPS or teachers who are accompanying to th
child for food and travel Rs: 8000/- (Rupees Eight thousand only/) will be reimbursed for selection of venue etc
Therefore, the District Educational Officers&Ex-Officio Project Coordinators and Additional Project Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha in the State is here by informed that the permission accorded to the Basavatarakam Smile Train Centre for conducting the Cleft Lip & Palate screening camps at district level .Hence all the DEOS/APCS are requested to arrange venue arrangements and communicate the information to Basavatarakam Smile Train Centre for smooth conducting of Cleft Lip & Palate screening camps.
Further they are instructed to communicate the above information to the parents with a wide publicity for the benefit of CwSN and take necessary action to coordinate the District I.E Coordinators, Special Educators and IERPS with the for smooth conducting of Cleft Lip & Palate screening camps in the State.
