School Education - TCS - National Level Rural IT Quiz 2023 - Certain Instructions to participation of students in large scale - Orders - issued regarding
Ref: Email received by Commissioner of School Education from Shoba Murthy, General Manager, TCS dated 20th Aug. 2023.
The Secretaries of KGBV, APRIES, APMS, other Welfare Societies of Schools, all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education, and all the District Educational Officers are informed that, as per the reference cited above, the Department of Electronics, IT, BT and 5 & T. Government of Kamataka in association with Tata Consultancy Services announced the National Rural IT Quiz 2023 program. The Department and Tata Consultancy Services came together in the year 2000 to rollout India's first Rural IT Quiz aimed at educating young students (Std. 8-12) in the field of ICT. The Rural IT Quiz has been a very successful program for the past 23 years and has earned an entry in the Limca Book of Records as the first IT Quiz program for rural students in India. 2. It is informed that, details about the National Rural IT Quiz covering. eligibility, School and Regional level rounds and National finals, prizes to be won, etc. are attached. You are instructed to encourage schools in our State to participate on a large scale, as there are prizes to be won both at the Regional level and National level. The program will be conducted from August to November 2023 through online tests and phygital quiz shows. Eight Regional Finals will be conducted for All India and the Winner from each Regional Final will participate in the National finals, scheduled during November 2023 at Bangalore. National winners, runner-up and all finalists will be given higher prizes.
3. Here are some instructions to be followed immediately.
a. Sri M. Somasekhara Brahmanandam, Faculty, Dept. of Mathematics, SCERT. I Mobile no.9848342002) is appointed as Nodal Officer for the programme. He has to co-ordinate the activities pertaining to the National Rural IT Quiz in Andhra Pradesh. He may get in touch with Ms Supriya Murthy from TCS (Mob: 8904855162 Email -supriyamurthy64@gmail.com) to take this forward.
b. All the DEOs are instructed to appoint one District Coordinator to conduct/collect the names of the students from various Govt. Managements and Schools from Class 8th to 12th Share the names and contact details of District Coordinators to the State Nodal Officer immediately.
e. District Coordinators are instructed to communicate time to time with State Nodal Officer and attend ONLINE events regarding conduction of Quiz Send Best Students lists on time without any grievance from any side.
d. 3 Best students per school will be allowed to participate.
e. District Coordinators have to give proper guidelines to HMs/Principals of 8th to 12th class schools and complete school level, division level competitions or exams using given model paper (with State Coordinatori and submit the best students' list to the state by 27th September 2023 in the given proforma.
f. Merit lists should be prepared as per guidelines given in the attachment should be followed strictly and timely.
g. District IT cell should give support for ONLINE selections/events to the selected Best Students of concerned Districts
h. Computer Instructors or other Teachers with sound knowledge in computers are advised to encourage the students of your school for getting ICT content. 1. This Quiz is for the rural students from class 8 to 12 studying in Government management schools only. Quiz is NOT open for urban students, rural Private School students and Distant Education Students.
4. All the DEOS and the Secretaries of Model, KGBV and other Welfare Societies are expected to communicate the respective teachers and students through wide publicity and time to time proceedings for getting Good number of Prizes in both regional and as well as National Level.
