PROFILE OF THE COLLEGE:
a. Silver Jubilee Government College, Kurnool was established in October 1972 to cater the needs of rural talented students; in the state of erstwhile A.P. It was conferred as autonomous in the year 2005 by UGC, recognized as the College with Potential for Excellence in 2010 by UGC and Re – Accredited with “A” Grade by NAAC in 2014.
To provide academic flexibility, Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) was introduced in 2013-14. The institution introduced Co – Education in 2014-15 by admitting the women students and providing the hostel facility.
b. The college has produced many eminent administrators, several number of academicians, scientists and many more have occupied prominent positions in many esteemed organizations at National and International Level.
c. Silver Jubilee Government College, Kurnool is under the jurisdiction of Cluster University, Kurnool. However, the students are considered as local for all the A.P. State Universities and Telangana State Universities for U.G. admissions.
d. This institution is conducting four years B.Sc., Hons, B.Com., Hons and B.A., Hons according NEP-2020 guidelines with Major and Minor subjects and also with Internal Electives and Open electives under CBCS to inculcate additional skills through Skill enhancement and Skill development programme in their interested subjects and also introduced six months internship programs which are job oriented and also to cultivate research culture among the students. The college also provides NCC, NSS, Physical Education.
e. The College Library is enriched with thousands of Books, Journals, e – Library in addition to Department Libraries. The IT infrastructure includes 190 Computers, LCD projectors, Laptops, Computer Science Lab, JKC Lab, Skill Hub, Commerce Lab and SC, ST Centre. Every Department is provided with BSNL Broad Band Internet connectivity.

ELIGIBILITY TO APPEAR FOR SILVER CET – 2024:
a. Students who have appeared for Senior Intermediate Examination in March – 2024conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, A.P. and Board of Intermediate of Telangana or equivalent to Intermediate of A.P. & Telangana are ONLY eligible to appear for the test subject to the other conditions. The students appeared for the Intermediate Supplementary/Instant Examinations in 2023 are not eligible for admission.
b. They should have passed the qualifying examination in one and first attempt in IPE –March, 2024 and should have secured 50% of marks on aggregate and 40% of marks in English subject (there is a relaxation of 5% in the case of SC / ST / BCs)
c. For B.A., - all the students are eligible irrespective of subjects studied in Intermediate but they have to opt HISTORY, ECONOMICS and CIVICS in Online Entrance Test.
d. For B. Com., - Students of CEC or any other group are eligible but they have to opt the ECONOMICS, COMMERCE – I, COMMERCE – II in Online Entrance Test.
e. For B.Sc., courses students must have studied the respective subjects at Intermediate level - MATHEMATICS, BIOLOGY (BOTANY& ZOOLOGY), PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY.
V. SCHEME AND SYLLABUS FOR THE COMMON ONLINE ENTRANCE TEST:
a. The on-line examination will be in one session of 100 minutes duration in the subjects mentioned at table III.
b. Examination will be conducted for 100 marks in Total. There will be three papers for 25 marks in each subject in addition to English paper for 25 marks. English paper is common to all.
c. Examination will be conducted based on the Intermediate syllabus (Board of Intermediate Education, A.P. Guntur) for group subjects.
d. Questions will be in both English and Telugu media and in objective type multiple choice questions.
e. There will be no negative marks for wrong answer.
VI. RESERVATION OF SEATS:
a. The reservation of seats will be as per Government orders issued from time to time.
b. 33% seats in each course are ensured to women candidates at Silver Jubilee Government College (A), Kurnool.
VII. RESERVATION OF SEATS FOR SPECIAL CATEGORIES:
a. Ex – Servicemen in the case of admission under these categories.
b. For NCC – Senior Division “B” Certificate.
c. For Sports quota – District and above level participation certificate.
d. For PHC quota – Medical Certificate issued by a Medical Officer not below the rank
of Civil Surgeon. Minimum disability is 40%.
e. Children of Armed Personnel (CAP) Quota – relevant certificate from the competent authority.
VIII. ALLOTMENT OF SEATS:
The seats available in the colleges are allotted in the ratio of 42:36:22 to the areas of erstwhile Andhra University, erstwhile Osmania University and erstwhile Sri Venkateswara University respectively as noted below according the earlier state level formation of districts.
ISSUE OF HALL TICKETS
a. Candidates can download their Hall Ticket from the website.
b. Candidates have to download the hall tickets from the website only. No printed hall ticket shall be issued / posted to the candidate.
c. Request for issue of duplicate Hall Ticket will not be entertained.
d. Without hall ticket, no candidate will be allowed to appear for the Online Entrance examination.
XIII. GENERAL INFORMATION
a. Admissions are for both MEN and WOMEN Students at SILVER JUBILEE
GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE (A), KURNOOL.
b. Mere appearing for the Online Entrance Test does not confer any right for admission. Applicants shall also fulfil other admission criteria stipulated by Cluster University and Govt. of AP as the case may be.
c. The administration reserves the right of changing the rules to be followed as per the directions of the Government and University from time to time.
d. The Candidates are personally held responsible for incorrect information in the application form.
e. The convener reserves the right to cancel the admission at any stage, if the particulars furnished by the candidate are found incorrect or against the rules of admissions.
f. The fees once paid will not be refunded in any case.
