LIP implementation aspects Headmaster/Principal role:
The headmaster must observe the classroom teaching i.e., teaching period and as well as practice period with observation formats frome-Lakshya app online, record the observations and see that the teaching learning is interactive and participatory in nature as per LIP strategies and upload the recorded observation format into the e-Lakshya app.
The headmaster has to discuss the implementation of classroom strategies as per the model lesson plans given in the teacher handbooks during the staff meeting and record the minutes of the meeting. The progress in children learning outcomes over baseline must be discussed and to be recorded in the minute book.
The headmaster and staff shall facilitate the children to read the library books and make access of books to the children in every class. A set of library books may be kept in the classrooms to make children to read them whenever teachers are on leave. The class leader has to manage the classroom library by issuing and receiving the books taking back and maintain the library register. The headmaster must ensure that every child shall possess a library book in his school bag always. Reading library books is an effective strategy to improve the skills of reading fluency, reading comprehension and writing.
The headmaster has to check children's competencies in reading fluency as well as reading comprehension, Foundational Maths skills frequently and ascertain the situation and plan for its improvement.
The state shall draft state level feams to the LIP districts during the first week of August, 2024 to observe the effectiveness of LIP implementation as per the strategies given in the handbook and as well as discussed in the training.
Action points to the DEOS:
The DEO has to constitute District level monitoring teams @ 2 teams per district by using the services of DRPS, DIET staff, good headmasters, complex resource persons. Each monitoring team should consist a person per subject in addition to one senior headmaster/DIET principal as team leader. The district teams ensures effective implementation of LIP strategies in both teaching and practice period and also effective use of teacher handbooks i.e., reading of teacher handbooks by the teachers and discussion of strategies during staff meetings, etc. Teachers to keep LIP teacher handbook in the schools to read and refer for effective implementation.

The first visit of district monitoring teams to the schools should be in the 3rd or 4th week of July, 2024 to observe the conduct of baseline test, children status of performance and implementation of LIP strategies in the classrooms. The next visits of District teams will be on bimonthly basis.
The AMOS and MEOs to visit the schools and observe the implementation of LIP strategies both teaching and practice periods and to furnish monthly report to the SPD office and a copy to the partner organisations.
The DIET principals along with staff, AMOS, MEOs has to monitor the implementation aspects by visiting schools randomly with online classroom observation formats and upload. Further they have to submit report on the implementation aspects to the DEO and SPD.
The DEO has to review the implementation aspects of LIP with headmasters and MEOs based on district team visit reports duly involving district teams.
The reports on the implementation aspects, gaps from DIET principals, AMOS, District teams and State teams will become the basis for conducting review Meeting on the implementation of LIP at district level by DEO and state level by the SPD and Commissioner of School Education.
